Gracie Griggs is the Director of the Etowah County Animal Shelter and a strong believer in servant leadership and community collaboration. Since stepping into her role in February 2025, she has worked hands-on to rebuild trust, strengthen partnerships, and increase public awareness of the shelter. These efforts led to a record-breaking 96 adoptions in one month and a live release rate just under 90%, a meaningful accomplishment for a county shelter serving a large jurisdiction with limited resources.
Before her work at the shelter, Gracie owned and operated Kozy Keepers Cleaning Service for seven years and later founded the Kozy Keepers Community Project, providing free cleanings to individuals and families facing hardship, especially around major holidays. She is also a licensed realtor with eXp Realty.
Gracie holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Snead State Community College (Magna Cum Laude), a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Entrepreneurship from Jacksonville State University (Cum Laude), and a Master’s in Public Administration with a minor in Political Science, graduating with a 3.77 GPA. She is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and has served in leadership roles within the organization.
Actively involved in the community, Gracie has supported initiatives such as CommUnity Thanksgiving Dinners, partnered with local schools and trade programs, and expanded educational opportunities through the animal shelter. She was recently honored as a Hometown Hero by Modern Woodmen of America. Above all, Gracie is a proud mom to her son, River, and is passionate about empowering others and creating positive change in Etowah County.
