Etowah County Sheriff's Office

My name is Josh Morgan I was born in Gadsden in 1979 and was raised in Etowah County. I’m a graduate of Sardis High School, and attended Shelton State Community College and an undergraduate from the University of Virginia, School of Professional Studies. I was hired at the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office in 2003 and attended the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Academy and immediately assigned to the Patrol Division.

Since employed at the Sheriff’s Office my promotions include, the Warrant/Fugitive Detail, Criminal Investigation Division, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain and currently the Director of Communications. From 2009 until 2018 I was a member of the County’s Joint Special Operations Group (JSOG) this group is comprised of all agencies within Etowah County.

In 2019 I attended and graduated the 277th class of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy in Quantico, VA. A member of the Sheriff’s Charity Board since started in 2012. I hold the Department highest award Medal of Valor and nominated for the Alabama Legislation Medal of honor, both for the April 11, 2011 tornados.

I am married to Brandy (Green) Morgan, have two children Kaleb (22), and Parker (9) and live in the Keener Community in Etowah.
