Savannah Lane is an attorney at Shelnutt & Varner Law Firm in Gadsden, where she was born and raised. A graduate of Sardis High School, Savannah is grateful for the opportunity to give back to her community through her career.  Her practice is mainly in the areas of family, contract, and probate law.
Prior to attending law school, Savannah attended Shorter University in Rome, Georgia, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history. Savannah was a member of the Honors Academy, graduated with highest honors (summa cum laude) and was inducted into the Alpha Chi Honor Society for academic excellence.
Savannah was the recipient of two generous scholarships at the University of Georgia School of Law, one of which was awarded to only one graduate of her University. While in law school, Savannah served as the vice president of the First-Generation Student Association and the treasurer of the Family Law Association. She participated in the Criminal Defense Practicum and practiced under the Third Year Practice Act in the Superior Court of the Cobb County District Attorney's Office. Savannah also assisted in starting the school's first new scholarly publication in almost thirty years, the Georgia Criminal Law Review. She served as Executive Symposium Editor for the journal's inaugural year. Savannah has been certified as a Mediator, a Court Appointed Special Advocate, and a Guardian ad Litem.
After passing the bar in 2024, Savannah worked as an associate attorney at a family law firm in Gadsden. She later moved to Shelnutt & Varner, where she expanded her practice to several different areas. She has attended court to represent dozens of clients in divorce and custody cases, as well as other civil disputes.
Savannah and her husband Ben live in Boaz. They have one baby girl, Saylor, and one dog named Bear. They love to spend time with their friends and family and cheer on the Dawgs and the Tide
