Small Business Relief Grant

This fund is available to provide reimbursement or funding for business improvements necessary and related to the COVID-19 pandemic beginning January 1, 2021. Examples of improvements include: developing an e-commerce website, creating an outdoor serving space for a restaurant, building a drive-up/walk-up window for service, building window shields to create a safety divider between customers and employees, personal protective equipment required as a result of COVID-19, etc.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO FUND REQUESTS FOR NON-PROFIT PROJECTS THROUGH THIS GRANT. WE CAN NOT FUND SPONSORSHIPS, PAYROLL ACTIVITIES (INCLUDING ADDITIONAL STAFF), INVENTORY, UTILITIES, RENT OR MORTGAGE PAYMENTS.*

This fund is available to businesses with less than 100 full-time employees within Etowah County, Alabama. Chamber membership is not required. 

Grants of up to $2,500 per business will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis for business that are eligible until all funds are expended. Funds may not be used to cover any expense that has previously been covered by another assistance program, including Paycheck Protection Program, Economic Injury Disaster Loans, Revive Alabama, Revive Alabama Plus, or any other disaster assistance program.

To apply, businesses must complete the form entirely, and upload an invoice or quote for the improvement project they wish to have considered. Additional documentation may be requested for approval and/or final award of the project. For projects to be constructed/completed, proof of contract/invoice and/or a copy of proof of payment will be required.

For businesses booking an appointment for assistance at The Chamber, you must bring the following in order to ensure that your application is able to be completed in a timely fashion:
  • Federal Tax ID
  • Copy of business tax returns or the 6 digit number under which they are registered with the Alabama Secretary of State
  • A description of the project they wish to accomplish or have already accomplished and how it is specifically related to COVID
  • A quote for the work or item(s) or an invoice and proof of payment for the work/goods already completed
